Current UK fire alarm regulations state that all business premises must have 'an appropriate fire detection system'. That means that if there's a fire, there needs to be a way for the fire to be easily detected and occupants can be easily warned.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
It is a legal requirement that that all fire alarms are test regularly and are maintained.
For your system to comply with the standards it needs to be tested quarterly, six monthly or annually depending on the system.
